Available Options

Document Information - Set the author and creator of a document and include metadata to quicken document retrieval.

Colorspace - Specify the color settings of images in a document

  • Default: To keep the original image colors.
  • Grayscale: To decrease document size for archival or transmission purposes.
  • CMYK: To convert all image colors to CMYK for documents that require color printing. To obtain more accurate CMYK conversion, a color profile can be attached to the PDF Converter printer.

Multi-language Support - Convert non-Western-European and U.S. character sets (e.g., Eastern- European and Far-Eastern characters). This conversion is less efficient and files tend to be larger. Font embedding is recommended for PDF viewers to correctly display all fonts.

Enable Postscript Simulation - Properly display complex images in a document that contains gradients (such as Word Art), transparencies, or advanced color blending.

Automatic Conversion to Hyperlinks - Create hyperlinks from specific prefixes in a document text such as www, http://, file://, mailto:, https://, or ftp://, and converts them into active hyperlinks in the PDF file.

  1. Select or clear the Automatic conversion to hyperlinks check box to turn this option ON or OFF.
  2. Enter the hyperlink prefix(es).

Note: Use a semicolon to separate several prefixes.

Create Bookmarks - Specify up to five (nested) levels of bookmarks in a PDF document. PDF Converter creates bookmark levels according to the size of the text in the document. For example, if 18- point headings are the largest, PDF Converter bookmarks them aslevel-1, followed by level-2 and -3 for 16-and 14-point subheadings, and so forth.

  1. Select or clear the Create Bookmarks check box to turn this option ON or OFF.
  2. Use the spin-box to set the bookmark level (up to five).
  3. The automatic generation of bookmarks works with well structured source documents, e.g. documents that have clear heading styles. Alternatively, you can open the resulting PDF with the Xodo PDF Studio and create the bookmarks in a more interactive way.
