Add Image Content
The Add Image Content tool allows you to add / create new image content in a PDF document. This can be useful when for example you need to add new reference images or tables to a report.
Starting the Add Text Content tool
- Start the Add Image tool by clicking the on the Document Tab of the toolbar
- Click on the page where you would like to place the image
- To finish press Esc or click elsewhere on the document
Once you have completed adding all the image content you need to the page, use the Edit PDF Content tools to modify it further if needed.
Image Content Properties
To access the Image Content properties right click (Mac: Ctrl + Click) on the toolbar button and click Default Tool Properties. The following default settings can be applied to image Content.
Appearance
Transparency - Sets the transparency of the text annotation
Compression: Convert any image to either a JPEG, JPEG2000, FLATE, or JBIG2.
- JPEG - lossy compression that will reduce image quality and size
- JPEG2000 - less lossy compression that will reduce size and some quality
- FLATE - Lossless compression does not reduce quality but may not always reduce file size
- JBIG2 - Lossless compression that can only support black and white color space. Color images will be converted to black and white. Best for scanned documents with no images
