    Ok I solved it already! Instead of uninstalling, I went to "Advanced options": Windows 10 settings > Apps & features > find Xodo > Advanced options > Reset. The Xodo app had accumulated 950 MB of data (seems like it must cache all viewed PDFs or something?) so the reset put that back to zero, and now it loads PDFs immediately again like when it was first installed.

    I am having this same problem, it is very frustrating that the fastest and best PDF viewer, Xodo, has become the slowest. Maybe I will try uninstalling and reinstalling.
