XFA Extensions

Some documents with the .pdf extension contain what is known as "XFA form data", which is a proprietary data format that is not actually part of the PDF standard. XFA technology is no longer being advanced by its owners (Adobe), and in the future it will be explicitly banned by the International Standards Organization. Because the format is a secret, Xodo and other PDF-standard compliant software cannot reliably open the document.

At this time the only software that we are aware of that can reliably open XFA-documents is Adobe desktop software.
