  1. Undo/Redo feature for any type of edit you make

The ability to undo/redo like in Microsoft word, like when highlighting, underlining, typing text. Of course you could hold finger on annotation for a few seconds and press delete but that's a hassle.

The freehand option has this option but that's only when you are in "drawing mode".

I imagine this will get tricky since it automatically saves every 30 seconds...

Thank you for your feedback! Undo/Redo is now available in Google Play Store \o/ !

Thanks for using Xodo and for taking the time to let us know how to make it even better.

  2. Allow users to create links to other parts of the PDF (and possibly other PDFs entirely)

It would be a great to be able to... for example:
select a word somewhere in the PDF and hit "create link" and then select the definition in the glossary and hit "link to here"- creating a link to other parts of the PDF

It would also be great to be able to use that same link to connect one PDF to another

Example : this textbook PDF has a question that is answered in another textbook PDF - so I select the question hit "create link" open the other textbook and select the answer and hit "link to here"

  3. highlight with one tap

On Android after choosing highlight mode, 1 tap on the word will automatically highlight that word only (similar to Mobeera's pdf max android's highlight). This is much faster and will reduce hand and finger pain from pressing and dragging finger across the screen.

  4. Lock horizontal scroll

I read in continuous page view and zoom to have the content take 100% of the screen width. When I scroll down to continue reading, the horizontal scroll is completely "free", so I have to keep having the page centered all the time. This would be much easier if the horizontal scroll was locked or at least " harder”, like more sticky. I've seen this done in other apps.

Thanks everyone for your feedback! We’ve made the horizontal scroll sticky, so you can read a zoomed-in document without loosing your position. We also maintain the zoom level when changing pages in non-continuous mode.

If you are looking for locking the zoom level and the scroll position, this can be done from the View Mode dialog > Crop Pages.

  6. Fit to page width

The default display mode when the device is in landscape position should be Fit to page width, not Fit to page height, as it stands now. (I don't know for small devices, but at least for tablets with high resolution.)

  8. Pinch zoom and move in Stylus Mode

While in the stylus mode, it would be handy if you can pinch zoom and move with two fingers so you can continue to work or move around the page.

Right now, you have to save and exit stylus mode, move and zoom and then re-enter stylus mode.

I have tried the "Stylus as Pen" mode, it does allow you to draw, move with your finger, zoom etc. The pain that I found with that is that when you are used to your stylus you invariable end up touching the screen and you make marks. The only way then to…

  9. Copy/paste annotations

Ability to copy/paste annotations for reuse and group/ungroup objects.
Example: create a shape and text, group and copy, then paste to another area within the document.

  13. Text Reflow & Dictionary/Translation option

It would have been perfect if you could add:
    1. "Text Reflow" option and we could still edit and highlight in text reflow mode.
    2. Dictionary so if we highlit a word the option of translating would be there (e.g.: Play Books).

All the best and keep up a good work ;)

Thank you for your feedback! Text reflow has been implemented and is included (along with a ton of other great stuff) in the next major release of Xodo. Text reflow can be accessed by pressing the page icon in the toolbar. Please checkout this article for more info: http://goo.gl/cmvjT7.

In addition, as per a previous update, Dictionary and translate is also available. Simply highlight a word (or phrase) and select define or translate from the popup menu (they may be under the three dots).

Please update your version of Xodo to check out the new features and improvements! Thank you!

  14. Copy selected text into Highlight, Cross-out, and Underline comment pop-ups.

For academics who use your wonderful app, this is an immensely useful option as almost all of the software tools that extract annotations from PDF require this.

Please visit this link: http://www.docear.org/support/user-manual/#pdf_editors which explains what exactly this feature is. I believe it will only take you a few tweaks in your code to enable it in your application.

    Thanks,

  15. Snippet summary of annotations

There's exactly one feature that still makes me want to use Skitch, even though I'd generally prefer to use Xodo. It takes all the annotations in a documentand and creates a summary of them, including a snippet of the document around the annotations. This is extremely helpful, since one only has to go through a document once and can use the summary afterwards. It would be nice it one could choose to have this summary included in the document or saved as a new file.

  16. Merging PDF Files

    Hi,

A great feature to add to the app will be the ability to merge multiple PDF files into one file.

    Look forward to this update.

Thanks for your feedback! You can now merge files in Xodo. Using the navigation drawer (the menu that slides out when you tap the three horizontal lines button), if you select “Folders” or “All PDFs”, and then select one or more PDFs (by long pressing a file, and then tapping subsequent files), under the top overflow menu (three vertical dots), you will find a “merge” button.

This is a little hard to find, and in the next major version of Xodo it will be easier to locate, so please stay tuned for that.

    Thanks again for your feedback!

  17. Custom Page Numbers

Some documents (such as textbooks) have many pages in the beginning that have custom page numbers (such as i, ii, iii.. etc.), making the page numbers slightly off from the document's page numbers. When opening the file on the desktop version of Adobe Reader, it takes into account the custom page numbers, so the page number matches that of the documents. However, with Xodo, the custom page numbers are not considered, so the page number does not match that of the documents, making any attempts on looking for pages via page numbers from the index impossible.

    Please add support for…

  18. Back and Forward button

I mostly read scientific papers or books who has hyperlinks to equations, figures, references and its annoying to navegate to all pages in between to get back to the last page i was reading. So i think a discrete back and forward button to get back will be awsome.

In the latest version of Xodo for Android, you can select text, and from the popover menu tap “Read” (which may be under the three dot menu item) to read the text out loud. Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you for your feedback! The next version of Xodo (version after 4.7.17) will have the option to remove the tab limit in the document viewer. This will be available as a Xodo setting that can be toggled on or off.

    Best Regards,
    Xodo Team
