The current blue style is beautiful, but it contrasts a lot with the usually white text page and makes the screen feel much smaller (specially on phablets). A white background style would be more easy on eyes, specially if it would fade a bit into transparency where it meets the text, similar to the upper bar on Google Keep app. Also options for a slimer edit toolbar and hiding the system upper bar on EDIT MODE would help with the desired unobtrusive layout.
